Retrive related record and put it in a look up Field

Posted on by 8
Hi guys,

I have a A to B relationship(1:N). After creating a record in B i want to show the Record automatically in a Look Up Field in the A Form. Is this possible?

Yes, it is possible via Plugin.

A similar concept has been explained in this article.

Please let me know if you need help with the plugin.

    Hi,

It is possible, but I'm not sure you need this feature.
The difficulty with your question is that when a child record is created, there is no parent record associated with it, so the system doesn't know which parent record to update.
So we need to create a lookup field on the child form and select the associated parent record when we create the new child record:
Next design a workflow that updates the parent record lookup field when the child record is created:

    The results are shown below:

    Hello,

Thanks you for your Answer, but my goal is that the related record is automattically selected in the Look Out field. Not to Filter the Options.
I want that after the creation of the related Record that the Look Up Field looks like this:
Without the User having to manuelly select it.

This is the configuration to make the lookup to show related records.
I have an account which has two contacts(test contact & test contact2) of relationship 1:N. The primary contact lookup only show the contacts related to that account.

Thanks for your effort, but I meant that the Look Up field is automattically filled in with the related record and not just an option that is showed there. Is this possible?

    Hi,
You can do it from form itself by selecting the current record in relative records filtering

    Thanks,
