Can you please clarify me about the structure for environment types for Customer Engagement within Dynamics 365? I cannot understand which ones can or not be deleted, as well as, if having a CDS impacts it.

Hi partner,
Strictly speaking, there are four types of environmental types.
The types of environments that can be deleted are sandbox and trial.
Production and default environments cannot be deleted.
In order to delete a Production environment, you must first change it to a Sandbox environment and then delete the Sandbox environment.

But there is an environment type which cannot be deleted in a CDS tenant, right?

The environment types for Dynamics 365 CE are product, sandbox and trial.
The CDS of each environment is irrelevant. If your organization has insufficient storage capacity, consider deleting an environment that you no longer need.
