unit security users disappeared in Management reporter

Hi all,

I need urgent help please..

We have a problem with security roles: users and groups,which were assigned in reporting tree definitions-->unit security, suddenly disappeared, as well as users in security groups . We couldn't find the reason so far.

Is it possible somehow to restore the data and get at least a list of security roles, i.e.which user/group was assigned in the reporting tree definition?

Hi JuleWergne,

Do you have a copy or backup of your live system available?

If so, then you can export the reporting trees, columns and row definitions from this system and import it in the management reporter application that is used with your live environment.

This can be achieved through the so called building blocks menu.

Probably talk to one of your system admins for some help.

Hi Ludwig,

our sytem admin has imported in the test environment a building block group. How can we change the default building block group to another group? In the example below we would like to set the group "test" as active, but fail.

If we want to delete the first group "default", the following error appears:

and one more question:

if I add the user now manually to the unit security (and he has also Viewer role), he still doesn't see the report.

What could be the reason for that? Actually I added the security role to the user as always - and earlier it worked.

Adding manually the user to security group(e.g.Controlling) works - we can see the reports..

Hello Ludwig,

I have found this way to set the default building block group:

Company-->Companies-->Modify:and then set the needed building block group:

But we still have the problems with security roles.

what we have found out so far: the users disappeared from security groups and sec. units. If I now manually add the user in security group,he doesn't see the old reports (only if I generate the new report,we will see it).

Furthermore, the users with role "Generator" get an error "you don't have a permission to generate a report to Library XXX".

I have also heard about the function "reset Data mart", which probably could detect the problem. But in our version (we use AX 2012 R13) I haven't found this function:

Do you probably know, where it could be hidden?

We have this same problem. It has occurred twice in the last two months. All Unit Security settings are wiped out and users are removed from the security groups. All other reporting objects appear to be intact. I cannot find any info on what is causing this issue.

We are also running AX2012R3.
