Font presentation Error

Posted on by 22,647
Just completed the update from 18.5 to 18.6 for the 2023 Year End Payroll and we have encountered the same error on a number of client systems.  The issue is that the account number on many of the reports is presenting with a strange set of fonts and therefore not showing the correct value.  We understand that this is a visual issue and that the posting and the data is not effected.

In all cases I have removed the modified report - removed the modified Reports.Dic file and built it from scratch and no difference.

Each time it results in the same font issue.

Assistance is sought and will be much appreciated.

Lisa, you are correct - that solution makes little sense - but then sometimes the weird is the right answer.

Interesting that even if there were no modifications to the FORMS - forcing the system to look at a new version seems to fix the problem.

Now to have the clients do some testing and we will see if we are done.

Beat thanks for the suggestion - so I
    (1) renamed the REPORTS.dic and recreated from scratch - NO CHANGE
    (2) removed the REPORTS.dic references in the security to any modified reports - NO CHANGE

Then I removed the modified Trial Balance from the REPORTS.dic, changed the pointers in Security to reference the internal report, logged out of GP and restarted - NO CHANGE

    Hi Bill,
This happens quite frequently after a version upgrade..

Have all users out of GP and then run GP Utilities.. select the Sync Forms & Reports dictionary and then select the DYNAMICS.SET file
Once completed, it should have synced the CoA format with the local DYNAMICS.DIC and the REPORTS.DIC & FORMS.DIC (or the shared version if on network)

You might have to repeat this on every GP client ..
    Good luck,
    Beat (aka GP Geek)

I know it is counter-intuitive, but recreate the forms.dic.
