Labels in EDT - showing the label identifier like @ABS123 but not Label text

Hello.

I have Bing all over the net, but I don't find any answers about this silly questions. Maybe I haven't looked enough though, so sorry for this interuption.

1) I have create my own label Identifier @ABC

2) I'm working in en-us language mode.

3) When I create new label in en-us language mode, I mark the label in another language, like Danish or Norsk for example.

4) Sometimes, like in table fields name the label text appear in danish, because it's just one language modified for that label, so in en-us the only available label text is used.

-But the problem is, that is not always the chase. I have create an Enum with Danish text labels, I added the Enum in a table, and there I only see the label identification numbers like @abs123, @abs124 and so on.

-How can I be sure that all objects who have labels that are in different language than en-us should appear the label text, because the idea was to send label collection @abc later to an translator.

Ad far as I know, AX doesn't default to en-us if it doesn't find labels in the active language. To get correct labels displayed, they must exist in the right label file. You can put English text to Danish label file, if you want to use Danish labels but you don't have translations. Or simply develop in en-us before label get translated to Danish.

    Hi,

If I understood it correctly you have checked different languages in Label editor and when you switch ax language you can't see the texts from labels right?

In this case you can put English texts for other languages till you get the translated ones.

    Well no, not quite.

    1) I normally use en-us development enviroment.

    2) But when I need to create labels I do it in another language than en-us, like danish for example. I mark the language with the right language identity of course.

    3) The main thing is the language identity en-us is empty/[null] of the new labels that I created.

What I don't understand is, that some Objects, like fields in the table based on EDT use danish label text. But other Objects like Elements en BaseEnum just show me the label identity number.

I though there should be available some configuration that if the language is empty in labels AX will use "next available language". It obviously do it sometime like table fields based on EDT - I see Danish text in label description when I'm working in en-us environment - but some Object like Elements, Static Text and some more Object don't appear in the same way - just show me the Label identity number, because the label haven't en-us created - why does some Object pick up danish, the only label text language that does exist, but some objects just show me identity because the language who match the environment doesn't exist?

    Hi Martin,

I am facing same label Issue. I have a label file and defined text for en-us language only and for other it has bank value.

When I run the report for for any language like swedish(sv) or finish (fi) it showing english text as it show blank value (No text)

Please suggest if you have any idea. Thanks in advance

I don't really understand what you mean by "it showing english text as it show blank value". Could you elaborate it, please?

Anyway, if you have the same problem, use the same solution (marked as the verified answer). In short, you have to create labels in all languages. If you want to use one label ID in three languages, you have to provide texts for this ID in three label files.
