DIXF is the name of the entity based import/export solution in AX2012. Originally it was called DMF (Data Management Framework).

In D365FO it's called simply Data management.

There are many differences between AX2012 and D365FO, but the foundation is the same, it's entity based integration framework, built on top of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).

You start with a file, the data goes to staging and then target. That's the same in both versions.

But there are many differences in details. Basically Data management is much better and more evolved version.

Do you have more specific questions? Why do you need this info? I think it's not so easy to start listing all possible differencies, so maybe it's easier to answer if we know more about the background of your question.
