AX 2012 SegmentedEntry control lookup

Hi,

I have a task to customize the look-up on an SegmentedEntry control. So in the General Journal Lines form when the user hits the look-up I need to filter some of the segments and remove the ones that are suspended form the current company.

 

Can anybody point me in the right direction of how could I do this?

    Hello Cata,

    I have found the following information on Segmented Entry Control(SEC) on two MSDN pages. The first shows the X++ code relevant to SEC and what to change/amend to make it relevant to what you are doing. I was unable to locate Information on the Lookups specifically, however you can open the relevant classes connected when assigning the SEC and change the relevant lookup or use a list of recently used values to select a value for each segment.

    Unfortunately i don't have any hands on experience, but i hope that this information will be able to help you.

    Hi,

    What I did find out is that the query is built from the LedgerDimensionController class. In this class there is a method getAutoCompleteValidQuery() that gets called when the query is build. I created a new method that adds the joins that i needed and called it from getAutoCompleteValidQuery().

    This works...my problem is fixed.

    My only worry is that I had to modify a framework class....
