Hi,

We are a vertically integrated business involving multiple countries, subsidiaries and business model

How to generate a common Product Number (Unique product id) for all simple products and product variants across all legal entities. This number also need to be synched with other integrated applications.

Hi Vivek,

In order to achieve unique product number, set the number sequence in PIM parameters to not manual. The number sequence is shared across all legal entities and it will always give you a unique product number in Product Master. You need to prevent users from creating records manually in Released products and always released the products from product master to any legal entity.

Hi Vivek,

A common Product Number can be generated across all legal entities.

After creating a new product, you need to release it to all legal entities.

Hi Vivek,

You can setup number sequence either numeric or Alpha-numeric. The selection at number sequence is alphanumeric but just setup numbers and it will work perfectly fine.

Take a look at number sequence setup and it will make things more clear for you.
