Trying to display the number of opportunities depending on various conditions/filters with a rollup field, these opportunities aren't linked to my entity.

I have been trying to do this without using js, I think it won't work with a rollup field because opportunities aren't linked to my entity, and I didn't find the right function to do it with a calculated field(I think it's impossible with a calculated field)

I would like to either count opportunities applying directly my conditions/filters on all opportunities, or just get the number of rows in a custom opportunities view.

Can someone help me?

Thanks, Vincent

Edit : One way to do it could be linking all opportunities existing to my entity, is it possible to do so?

    Hello,

First of all you have to create 1-N relation between your entity and opportunity.

Then you can create a custom field(integer-wholenumber) on custom entity.

Select field type "Rollup" and clik edit and write yoru conditions for example count open opportunity.

I would like for my custom entity to be linked with a group of opportunities corresponding to some criteria, so I can count all of these opportunities, do you think it is possible?

    Yes, it is possible.

As Atilla mentioned, create a 1:N relationship with your custom entity and associate all opportunities corresponding to your criteria to it.

The rolled up field will automatically show you the number of Opportunity records linked to the custom entity record.

So I tried to do it earlier , but the field would only show me 0 while the result of "count of opportunity" should be the total numbers of opportunities in my data base, if I understood it right, right?

    Can you help me?

The rolled up field is correct.

Can you show if the Opportunities have been associated to your custom entity?

    Hi Vincent ,

I am suspecting that , the Mass Calculated rollup fields job is yet to run , by default  running  12 hours interval.

However you can  can make it happen faster. In the System Jobs entity, use the Recurring System Jobs view to filter the list and locate the Mass Calculate Rollup Fields job. With the job selected, use More Actions > Postpone and set the time to something that occurs sooner.

    Hope this helps.

Hello Shidin, how can I show that opportunities have been associated?

Hi Goutam, I don't think the problem is linked with the Mass Calculated thing, since I waited 12 hours and nothing changed..

Okay , you might be right . However to confirm this could you please try to create another Rollup Field examples are given here in below reference. See how it is working or not -
