When setting up a warehouse can you make it a retail store as well? I have heard conflicting reports saying that I would need to select the warehouse management processes under the warehouse management tab and select store under the retail tab. Then others have told me that this will not work together.

Has anyone set up a warehouse as a retail outlet and if so what settings did they use?

Hi Harold,

I assume you are referring to the new R3 warehousing. That is indeed not supported as far as I understood. What are your reasons trying to use it?

Yes we are referring to R3. We require some of our warehouses to operate as retail stores but we also need the use of mobile devices for goods receiving, stock taking, etc.

Which I understand can only be done with the new warehouse management system active.

Hi..

at the moment I am testing the following scenario: created a Retail Store linked to the new Warehousing capabilities in AX and then using the POS I am creating Sales Orders for items to be picked / delivered using the new Warehouse capabilities in AX 2012 R3. I am using the MS Sales VM for AX 2012 R3. I did not use the RF option but I am managing to create my loads, shipments, and works, process the Work and Load, issue a Delivery Note for the entire delivery van and post the invoice

So far, in concept, it looks to be working for me...

Hi,

What are the results of your tests?

Can we , from pos , pick or receive with a default storage size Site - Warehouse - status- location - license plate ?

Hi

At present when we set the new warehouse management process which we need to use the stock status we keep getting an error stating that the ' stock dimension stock status must be specified ' when we have specified the stock status.

So at present we are trying to get around this issue.
