Hi all,

Currently, I am learning in AX 2012 R3 Sales order and purchase order process.

When i working in sales order process i am using Delivery date control features.

I have setup AR -> Parameter --> Shipment tab Delivery Date Control type as 'Sales Lead Time' and sales lead time value as 5.

After creating a sales order the requested ship and receipts date as calculate from sales lead time value setup done in parameter.

Requested ship and Receipt date = Today +Sales Lead Time (5).

for the above i understood, But the above calculation which calendar use and where to setup the calendar for delivery date control features.

If any one familiar about this let me know how and where to setup calendar.

Additionally,

I need to know the purpose of ATP , CTP, ATP + Issue margin functionality and its process flow calculation in sales order process.

Delivery is based on the calendar settings on the Warehouse and Mode of Delivery.

    You can create calendars under:

Organization administration > Common > Calendars > Calendars

Under Working Times you can see the hours created.

You can create new calendars and create working times based on a working time template that has a weekly plan. You can also use base calendars that override the individual calendars (containing Public holidays +++) so you can have multiple calendars, and manage the common closings one Place.

After a calendar is created, you can go to the Mode of Delivery to set up the Transport calendar:

Sales and marketing > Setup > Distribution > Modes of delivery | Transport Calendar

ATP is available to promise - what you have in stock

CTP is how long it takes, an expected date, the issue margin includes issue margins in the calculation set against the coverage group or plan.

    Like Steven said:

Sales Lead time is a static value that you tell the system.

ATP looks at existing orders (Transfer, Production, Purchase) and gives you an estimated future schedule. This is represented in a very nice graph, but remember to have a perspective that meets your lead times and order to delivery window.

ATP + margin just add some static values to the ATP for safety.

CTP runs master plan and use planned orders created by this to tell when an item is available. CTP might be a bit time consuming depending on supply chain, BOM/Route complexity and so on.

All take in to account the transport calendar.
