Create sales order for PSA contract instead of invoice

Hello

We have a unique situation here.

We are using PSA for project management, Business Central for billing, and Dynamics 365 Sales for sales and customer service.

We need all three products consolidated in terms of billing. All invoices must go out of Business Central.

The issue:

1- Sales and BC must have "Back Office Order Processing Integration" enabled in sales hub to be able to process sales orders from BC.

2- In PSA, we cannot have "Back Office Order Processing Integration" enabled if we want to invoice project contracts from PSA.

Question:

Is there a way for us to have PSA contracts creates a sales order instead of an invoice? or is there a way to integrate PSA and BC?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Mouda,

there is no out of the box integration from CE PSA to Business Central available yet.

There is an integration to D365 Sales as per below:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/admin-prepare-dynamics-365-for-sales-for-integration

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/marketing-integrate-dynamicscrm

    But regarding PSA, the disclaimer:

Business Central integrates only with Dynamics 365 Sales. Other Dynamics 365 applications that change the standard workflow or data model in Dynamics 365 Sales, for example Project Service Automation, can break the integration between Business Central and Dynamics 365 Sales.

Going through the above documentation should provide insights on if your requirements can be met.

Thank you, Ioannis. Highlighting the disclaimer helped put this to rest. hopefully, we get seamless integration soon.

    Hi Mouda,

thanks a lot, happy to see I could contribute.

As an additional input in case you are not already aware:

Project Operations is a new application that will bring together capabilities from Project Service Automation, Microsoft Project for the web, and project management and accounting within Finance.

I am aware that your are using D365 Business Central & not D365 Finance (also, you don't change ERP systems during a coffee break), but this might be something interesting for you in a long term aspect.

Additionally, many customers are interested in a Project Operations version containing Business Central as well, so it might be worth keeping your eyes open for any future announcements on this topic (also long term).
