Default Filter in Grid

I have created a Filter called "Active" in "Project Quotations"

Be default when I go to Project Quotations it shows me all Quotations.

I can then select the Filter I created, however as soon as I open a record and make edits and click close on the quotation by Filter resets to show all Quotations which is annoying.

How can we get it to stay? Also is there a way to make a filter for a user the default view when they go into a grid view?

We are AX 2012 R3

Thanks

Tanya

    Hi Tanya,

Where did you place the code for applying the filter? Probably you can also put on some additional coding in the executeQuery() and/or active() method of the form datasource.

When you save value of the filter Active you can retrieve it and apply the filter directly when a user opens the form. Have a look at the general journal form as example. When this form opens it always applies a filter on open journals.

Hi Tanya, could you apply the default filter ?

From what I know there is no option to apply a standard filter on listpages.

    Two ideas:

    - There is a parameter in the user setup (file-extras-options) which is called something like "open everything in a separate window". If this is checkmarked the quotations should open in a separate window and the filter should keep applied in the background window. Works for me on several forms.

    - If not possible try to navigate back using the "back arrow" on the top. This should bring you back to prior view.

    Hi,

you can add All Quototations in your favorite and, go to manage your favorite  , and apply the query that you already save by dafault .

after that , when you will choose All quotation from your favorite , the screen opens with the query by default

Hi, I have the same question, for the BOM Lines form in Product Information Management.

I put a filter on the "Active" field, to see only the active BOM version.

I saved this filter, so I can quickly apply it when needed, but is there any way to get the form automatically to open with this filter active? I tried Personalizing the form, but no success so far.

I'm not a programmer/developer - just a user who wants to get the most out of Ax.

    Hi,

Ismail's suggestion is a nice approach. We use it a lot, in our implementations.
