WMS - Create Inbound Load with Transfer Order

Posted on by 5

Hi,

I need to create Packing Structure with Transfer Load.

But when I am trying to create packing structure from Transfer Order Load, it says that - Load type must be Inbound.

How can I create Inbound Load for Transfer Order. By default, it creates only Outbound Load.

I check below link, and it says that we can create Inbound load with Transfer Order.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/assign-a-rate-and-route-to-a-load

please suggest.

    Thanks Satish.

I also feel same as you, that Inbound / Packing structure is not available with TO.

I could not find any other documentation for this.

Actually, customer wants to see all packing information when transfer is coming to warehouse. (this is possible in PO - Load receiving).

Also they want to receive Transferred items based on Pallet and Box. (this is possible when we create packing structure with load. But this can be achieved with PO only).

Do you have any idea, if this can be achieved with other standard Ax function.

thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi kgsinha,

Don't see how load would be created for inbound transfer order. If you notice, the load details and other options are not even available on receive tab. Also, try creating a TO, go to load planning workbench, it won't even show the receiving side of the transaction under transfer orders, only shipping side is shown. Unless you see any other documentation, I don't think it's available.

Moreover, packing structures are only supported on inbound loads (E.g. PO load created and then packing structure can be created). TO receiving is not much different than PO receiving but seems like the TO receiving functionality is limited in terms of inbound load / packing structure.
