After updating Dynamics 365 (on prem) we now have v8.2.5 running on Windows Server 2012 R2. The update was in all respects uneventful with no errors logged.
Now when a user clicks on any link to retrieve records of any kind, the application partially retrieves the expected data and then throws a generic SQL error.
The log is equally unhelpful. There are no errors showing up on the database server.
We have increased timeouts etc.
Also: where do I go to get paid (per incident support)?
Initiating a single incident case was much harder than it should have been. The url you provided in fact does not offer any single incident case options to users that already have a relationship with Microsoft. After spending the better part of an hour with customer support on the phone, even they could not get me to the right place on their web site. Finally I was given a tip to create a new identity that was not connected to any Microsoft account... and sure enough the single incident purchase option showed up.
Hello,
Turn on tracing - support.microsoft.com/.../how-to-enable-tracing-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm
Restart IIS and reproduce error, that should cause logs to be generated in Trace folder. Check it.
To initiate a case you should visit this url - support.microsoft.com/en-us
