Setting up Enterprise Portal on multiple AOS instances

Hi all,

I´ve been looking for a solution on this topic and so far all I´ve found is a reference to this site:

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/solutions/archive/2006/09/11/ep-configuration-single-web-server-multiple-aos-installations.aspx

Here the writer says that we have to edit the web.config file in the new directory (created by the new web site) in order to have multiple AOS instances with different EP configured on them.

What I want to have is a development AOS instance with EP configured on it and another test AOS instance with EP configured on it too but both of them running at the same time.

My questions are this:

Do I have to edit this file in order to implement this?

Could I workaround this problem editing the configuration of the business connector proxy and working with the IIS?

The reason of the first question is that I am not confident editing this file and for the second one is that I recently implement something like this for two AOS instances working at the same time with different workflows. In this case the business connector has different configurations for each one.

Thanks in advance,

Fernando

    Hi Fernando

For this issue you can see also this link sinedax.blogspot.com/.../ax-2009-single-server-multiple-epsites.html

However also my self have follow this step and work well.

The unique problem is that the User Controls (ASP objects) are share with the two enviroment, so if you modifiy a Web page in DEV Env this modification is visible also in TEST env. A workaroud is describe at the link support.microsoft.com/.../944105

    Hi Denis,

I already read this link but the solution doesn´t convince me one hundred percent.

If you say that this implementation works then I´ll probe it and let you know the results.

    Thanks,

    Fernando

It is weird but now I can connect to both sites at the same time without having changed the web.config file of none of them. And the data is correct on both sites.

Anyway thanks Denis for all your help.

    Cheers,

    Fernando
