Does Trial UDE need storage capacity ?

Hi guys,

I want to deploy Unified Development Experience for the first time, but I'm looking for the Trial version.

While I already had the license ->

What else should we have, for example in Power Platform Admin Center, I cannot see capacity for Finance and Operations.

Kindly help for some idea.

Hi Voltes,

Not sure, but is the Power Platform Admin Center new to you? It might be the case that F&O capacity will show up after deploying a first environment. Looking at the available licenses, you should be able to deploy UDE environments.

It is actually not new, I have this Power Platform since 2020 back then when learning PowerApps. Is it because this is old environment ?

By looking at this :

To create environment :

Prerequisites
To create an environment with a database, you need at least:
1 GB of available database capacity
For Dynamics 365 finance and operations apps, you need at least:
1 GB of available operations database capacity

Seems there is "operations database capacity", but where to purchase that ?

Hi Voltes,

I think you have a trial license for Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. In that case, you can only deploy a trial environment, and no additional capacity is granted as the trial runs on Microsoft capacity.

However what I need is the environment with Development experience, not only Trial D365 User experience.

Hi Voltes,

In thas case, you would need to have different licenses. Not a trial, but a customer Dynamics 365 license or partner sandbox.

Were you able to resolve your issue? Also, did you procure additional capacity for D365 Finance and Operations?

Kindly share your thoughts or experience. In my case, I’m encountering the following error while running the PowerShell script to provision a new UDE VM:

Error message:

This environment can't be created because your tenant does not have enough Finance and Operations capacity.;

If this issue would be resolved if I change my D365 F&O subscription plan to Pay-as-you-go or I need to procure additional license?

As per Microsoft, provisioning a new UDE VM requires 1 GB of Finance and Operations capacity and 1 GB of Dataverse capacity. I also need input from the community regarding how to increase the Dataverse capacity by 1 GB. Please find the below screenshot of memory usage from PPAC.

Looking forward to hearing input from community experts as well
