Hello, I am wondering how do I get the Demo Database .msi file?  I have the Navision 2017 installing DVD, but it does not seem to include the demo database.  I have run the Install Demo from the installer, but it is now asking me for the msi file. I cannot find this file on the DVD.

Is it available for download somewhere?

    It's not a *.msi file.

On each dvd you can find sql backup of Cronus database by next path :

    \NAVDVD\SQLDemoDatabase\CommonAppData\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\110\Database\Demo Database NAV (11-0).bak

Also you find demo license there. So you need to restore this backup on your SQL server.

To download it without partner or customer source - take last cumulative update for NAV 2017 here:

To download the NAV DVD (localized version as your requirements) you need access to PartnerSource or Customersource.

I take I would need access myself to the customer source Microsoft site?

Unfortunately I was not the one who obtained the DVD. I can ask them, but I was trying to resolve this myself before doing that.

As for language - I've only see fr and nl mentioned so far.  (I do know once running the client allows English though).

The demo installation must not ask you to search for the msi. What language have you downloaded? Try downloading the package again.

Yes that is exactly what I've done. I open the DVD and run setup. I then click "DEMO" and it starts to install. However it eventually pops open a "browse" window and tells me to find the DemoDatabase.msi file.  I've searched just about all over the DVD and cannot find it. But, if you say it should be on there perhaps I just haven't found it yet.

It seems strange to me. Have you check correctly? Have you try to run setup and install the demo from here? The 2017 DVD contains the Cronus db.
