Automatic Purchase Order creation

I have this scenario where I need to have a Automatic PO creation when on hand is below safety stock, and notification email will be created with details of PO number and Item number. Any suggestions on how to make this happen , if it can be done without coding? any right ways to this? Thank you !!

Hi kebs,

Please check the below link. In this thread user wants when his MIN/MAX items stock goes beyond the Min or Max then he wants an alert generation and your requirement is to generate difference qty PO and also send the mail.

Hi,

Functionality in the Master Planning module can do this. Are you using Master Planning?

Master Planning can be configured like this to auto-firm depending upon your data and standard alerts could be configured based upon which dataset and how you establish the alert rules. Having the email detail those elements would not be standard from memory but if the PO is for 300 items would you want the item number? :-)

I'm not too familiar with the functions in the master planning module. Ive been searching for ways but sad to say still have no way to do this. Ive been experementing the module master planning but i dont know the process to do this. Could you please fetch me with steps on how this process works? I would like an automatic PO creation based on the safety stocks of the on hand item. Im very sorry i'm still learning this im a newbie. Thanks

Create a coverage group of period 90, set everything to 90 for ease in the time fences, negative/positive days etc.

Assign this group to an item.

On this item create an item coverage group in the top ribbon. Define the site/warehouse depending upon your level. Define a minimum stock holding that is higher than the current stock.

Go to the net requirements of the item and select update and run a master plan for the item (you can get to full runs for all items later).

This will create a purchase order, assuming you set the firming time fence to 90.
