Hi, are there any primary tables/fields that audit logging should be switched on for in Finance and Supply Chain or is this up to the discretion of the company?
Also, the ideal time for how long logs should be retained? I understand if they aren't cleaned regularly then it could lead to performance issues
There are several audit logs already stored in several tables, like who posted what accounting entries on what date. What additionally should be tracked depends on regulations in your country or requirements from e.g. GxP.
The retention period then also depends on specific requirements. Adding records to the database log isn't a huge performance killer. Once the database log is too large and you want to clean up the data, then it will take a long time. Next to that, the database log will consume the database capacity included in your subscription.
