I work with dynamics 365 for sales and field service. We use the opportunity for sales related work. I qualify a lead to an opportunity, but I can't use the opportunity due to the following message. Anybody knows how to resolve this so I can use it related to sales?
"This form can only be used for service maintenance-based records. The record is read-only."
The Form is custom, so I did not specify it to be service related. How do I change it to order related? The Ordertype is product based.
Did you copy the Service based form for your custom form? You should be able to add and use a custom or standard sales form in the Field Service app to create a 'normal' opportunity record.
You may also be setting this value inadvertently through your lead qualification process. In my demo org, there is a field on the 'Details' tab of the lead form where you set the Order Type. Make sure that is set to be Item Based prior to qualification.
