How to do field's validation on Workflow approval.

Hello everyone,

I have a multiple steps workflow means multiple approvals required. After submitting the workflow the assigned worker has to approve the workflow by adding his/her specified date. I want to make this date field mandatory. He approves the field before filling the mandatory field.

Now I want to validate the date and restrict the approval based on the date field.

Note: I don't want my workflow to fail.

How to add it? Is it a customized field?

Can you add a condition to check the date field?
