Project Server integration

Environment:  AX 2012 R2 CU7, Project Server 2010 (trial version), Win Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012

I'm trying to integrate AX with Project Server.  I've set up everything and can access the Project Server from its URL  http://[test  server]/PWA/default.aspx

My user set up for the integration is a domain admin, it has owner permissions on the project databases.  When I set up the integration settings, I put in an integration id, the project server url (hitting the globe opens it up), the reporting database server and the database name.  I choose the company and save it.  Then hit Enable Integration.

The status goes "in progess" and here is where I get stuck.   It stays in progress forever.  I've left it go for an hour - stopped and restarted.  Overnight -- stopped it, started it before I left and it stays in progress.  And now over the weekend, stopped it, started it on Friday and it still says in progress.  Nothing seems to be happening.

I have put the Project Server 2010 on its own virtual host and now I've tried putting it on the same box as the AX AOS instance.  Nothing has changed.

I've looked in the Event logs on the project/aos machine under applications.  There is nothing logged as an error or anything at all to do with Project.  I've checked the SQL Server Event logs and I've checked the sql server actual logs and again, nothing.

I can't find a single reason that this won't integrate.  No logging is occurring so I can't find an error.  Is there anything else I can do to find out whats going on or to get it to do something?

    RE: Project Server integration

    Hello,

Long time ago I was able to manage integration ax<->ps; there are still some details about how to do so in this forum - try please to browse for 'project server' topic. If some of them will be unclear - let me know, will try to explain more.

And by the way - not sure if it is good idea to spend time now to integrate with ps2010; ps2013 has 100% different way to exchange data (web services) than ps2010, moreover - native ms ax-ps2010 connector can not do much (only worker names, project names, and something third, do not remember now can be integrated), and we found it not much useful at all (one-way synchronization, not possible to manage properly worker rates, and much more). If I may suggest - tre to move to ps2013 and do synch using web services, not ms ax-ps connector. Connector is 'retired' now, I am quite sure there will be no more releases of it, and it really not do the job.

    regards

    Tomasz

    RE: Project Server integration

Thank you Tomasz.  I went with ps2010 because its the only one I could find that was supported.  I came here and asked but nobody could point me to anything related to ps2013.  Do you happen to know where an implementation guide whitepaper could be found?
