D365BC Manufacturing many from one

Posted on by 175

I would like to ask for a work around or add-on solving this business case, where I consume one item and produce many from it (NAV/Business Central).

For example as in Poultry Production, CNC Cutting, etc.

I read about the work around for by-products to be "produced" by a negative consumtion, but in this case how will be allocated the cost of the consumed item to the finished goods produced from it?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

We can use the Family Master and put all the many items produce in that family. Now define the same item in BOM master for each produce items. Production order can be created for family, output can be booked for multiple production lines in one order and consumption can be booked for same item as per BOM or actual. By doing this you can get the production cost in the system. This is suggested work around, i think it should work.

Otherwise need to do some customization in the BOM Master.

    Thanks
