Backup of RDL files

Dear All,

Could you please let me know how to take backup of RDL files (SSRS report) from reporting server.

    yes, we recommend to take backup of ALL RELEATED objects from inside AOT

    That means if i took backup of RDL files that means it mainly took backup of report design only. Not business logic right?

    So, if i want both backup (Business logic + Design) then we need to follow the steps which you mentioned above.

    Please confirm.

    you can login on reporting server URL. the report server URL can be found inside AX.

    Files >> Tools >> Business Intelligence tools >> Report serve >> Report manger URL

    You can hang-over mouse on any RDL and you can click Download to keep backup of RDL file.

    But this seems unsafe backup. As AX reports has got lot of business logic inside AX, in addition RDP classes or Queries based on which data is displayed on reports. So we recommend you to take a backup of x++ objects from inside AOT. You can reimport that backup anytime and can redeploy reports.

    Taking backup of only RDL files may not be helpful at some point, in case if you lost related objects of X++ e.g. query or RDP etc.
