Flushing principle

Hi

,

I created a picking list for this item manually.

However, the system is supposed to make a picking list for the item automatically when the work for the item is closed. I found out that the flushing principle is set to manual, may I kindly know what should be the setup to have picking list automatic again should it be start or finish? Thank you

Attached for your kind reference.

    RE: Flushing principle

You can forward flush at the start to consume components to the order or you can backflush as finished goods are received to consume components so both options are valid.

There are different scenarios when one or other is preferable e.g. if pumping flour or sugar or alcohol continuously form a tank or a silo simultaneously to several production lines/orders then backflush might work better. Where you have marked stock to a sales order then  forward flush might work better.

There are three stages for Automatic BoM Consumption in Production.  As any of the following stages is initialized, pick list journal(s) and BoM item consumption occur..

    1. At Start of a production order.
    2. Upon completion of an operation.
    3. Upon report as finished of a production order.

The flushing principle used at each of these three stages depends on the parameters set in Production and the flushing principle associated with the item.

Production Execution Parameters (Production control > Setup > Manufacturing execution > Production parameters)

Note when selecting the parameters for material consumption (flushing), the flushing principle selected on Start parameters must also be selected on either the operations tab or the report as finished tab.  If not, then the  materials being consumed could be deducted twice from inventory.

When using a Warehouse Management Enabled Warehouse, traditional raw material back flushing will not work the same. See:
