Font size and type Nav 2015 Reports

ReportReport
Posted on by 165

Hello,

I am using SQL Server 2014 report builder to modify the Rdl file. I go to Object Designer -> Select the report -> Design -> View -> Layout and change the font size and type. After I made the desired changes on the report, I saved it, then complied then run it but I don't get the updated report. The font type doesn't change when I print it. Am I missing something?

I changed it to Arial but I don't see Arial when I print the report. Any help is appreciated? When I preview, changes seem to be there. Is there a global font field? Thank you.

What happens if you save it as PDF, there is no global setting for the font.

If I save it as PDF it looks ok, the font isn't as bad, I can live with you. Changes are much more visible.

    Hi SeanY,

did you print from Request page or from preview mode?

I printed from the request page. I don't honestly see a place to print in Preview mode. I just realized that when I print to PDF first and then print that pdf to the printer, it looks awesome. The font is crystal clear. The problem is only when I click Print dropdown and then Print button from the request window. Any ideas? Has anybody seen this?

I suppose this goes back to what Suresh said about printing in PDF. It would be nice to print directly instead of sending it to pdf first.

    Sean,

Try to clear the metadata for that report from these tables if it exists Object metadata, User metadata and Page data Personalization and recompile and try to print the report. Also try to print the report from other computer/printer.

Could it be something with the printer driver? I print to pdf, save the file and then print to the physical printer. It shows up fine.

I print using the request window directly to the printer then it is messed up. I looked at the driver on the printer and it is RDP session, it is using something called - Remote Desktop Easy Print. I looked at the driver in Adobe right before I sent to the printer and it loads the printer driver correctly. At the end I printed to the same physical printer but two different methods.

It could be that's why print to other printer and check.

Try opening the same modified report from a different user machine - would it drive you to the same result?

I think this has to do with RDS and how printer drivers are installed and redirected. We are working on a resolution. I will let you know if it works. Thank you all.
