Client crashes when it tries to export to excel

Hi,

I hope anyone on this forum can assist me with troubleshooting this issue we're having.

We're experiencing issues with our Remote Desktop environment.

Whenever a user tries to export a report that's over 100.000 lines Dynamics client crashes.
We have noticed that the client accumulates up to 3 GB in RAM and then crashes with the error message "An error occured. Consider contacting your System Administrator about this problem.

Exception of the type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

And it has over 150 GB RAM free.

We are using Excel 2010 (32bits - version 14.0.7166.5000)

Dynamics AX version: 6.3.3000.111 (Same on both Applicationserver and Remote desktop).

Have anyone else noticed an issue like this?

We can export reports that are smaller without an issue.

Setup:

Windows 2012 R2 (Remote Desktop Session Host - Running 2x Intel Xeon E5-2660 CPUs and 192 GB RAM - Physical machine HP Proliant BL460c G8 )

2x AOS AX servers (W2012 R2) to handle the application

2x AX DB servers (W2012 R2) to handle databases with Always On.

    Hi,

Are you facing the same issue while pulling the same report  directly from server ?

    Hi Muhammad,

Yes we are able to reproduce this on AOS server and Remote desktop servers.

We have tried now with Office 2010 32-bits, Office 2016 32-bits and 64-bits.

When Dynamics AX reaches 131 500 rows it freezes and crashes after a while.

Also reaching exactly 3411,5 MB for the ax32.exe application.

Any good ideas? Is this per design for Dynamics AX ?
