Historical Sales Tax Rates

This is not a specific GP question but I am just hoping for the best as everyone in this forum is very helpful.   I am looking to see if anyone here has kept files containing sales tax rates by zip code.   I need to run a report against our data and backdate our calculation all the way to 2011.  I know going that far back will be difficult but anything that could be provided would help and be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Steven,

I don't know what state you are in, but here in Texas the sales tax rates are not kept by zip code. We have a city tax and a single zip code can contain multiple cities. The zip code where I live is included in three different cities. Does your location determine the sales tax according to zip code? I know that CCH does their sales tax databases by zip code, but I think they base it on land mass or population (your choice) rather than an actual rule established by the taxing authority.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
