How to Add Custom workflow to Custom form in D365 Finance and Operation ERP

Hello Guys,

I have created a custom form and and a custom workflow , now i want to add this custom workflow to the custom form. what are the steps i need to follow in order to achieve it. I have created custom workflow using this reference (devmusings.blog/.../) . Like in built workflow in D365 , how can i tag and active my custom workflow to this form.

My requirement for the flow is mentioned below.

1:On the form or on the standard toolbar menu there should be on one button(Send for approval) which will send form for the approval.

2: On click event a email should go to the approver with the link of this form so that he can open and chose the respected action (Approve/reject/hold)

3: On behalf of the approver action an email notification should send to the user.

4: Form status should be changed as per the current state. (Sent for approval/ Rejected/on hold/ Approved)

Hello Blue , yes exactly same advised in blog.https://devmusings.blog/2018/03/18/custom-workflows-in-microsoft-dynamics-365-for-operations/

Now i can see the custom workflow in D365 UI Project Module. i have opened my custom workflow in workflow editor. As advised in last step of blog "In the workflow editor, we add the workflow approval to the workflow" but in my workflow i cannot see the workflow approval only i can see the flow control. please find the screen shot for your reference. As i am not able to link the start and end point to activate the workflow.

Please advice.

you are showing me the screenshot of enable the workflow on form and i am talking about adding approval to type.

Please recheck once all of your steps.

Hello Guys, this issue has been resolved. I have done below steps. i am not sure which one was effective to solve this issue.

1. Removed and adding approval type again and cross check all the names references are correct

2.Restart IIS and restart services.

3.Use incognito mode and IE , now its working for both.

Hello Guys , referencing to the same process now my workflow is active and i can see workflow button is appearing in the menu bar. but after creating a new record when i am clicking on workflow it shows cancel menu item instead of workflow. please advise where i made mistake in the process and need to check. Please find the screen shot for your reference.
