EFT File Formatting

Posted on by 785

I'm attempting to create an EFT File format ID for Bank UBS Switzerland and in several instances they require an XML Tag length that is 17 characters long. In GP we appear to be limited to 15 characters. Is there a way to work around this or am I possible doing this wrong?

    Hi Bob,

Based off of your screenshots it appears that you are making reference to ISO 20022 version 3 which is not currently supported in Dynamics GP, we currently only support ISO 20022 version 1.  I would encourage you to enter a product suggestion for this option to be added as a feature request for future releases of GP. You can do so at the following CONNECT site:

    experience.dynamics.com/.../

I have included the link above to the MS Connect product suggestion database that is read directly by our Product Management Team. They do read each suggestion and triage it according to a priority scale. The suggestions will stay in the database to be read by others and can be voted on. The more votes it gets, the higher up in priority it will go over time.

Hopefully you can see the attached image OK. I'm creating an EFT Format using Format type "ISO 20022 - Domestic, Low Value" file type XML. The XML Tag value on any field where the "Maps to" is XML grouping has a max length of 15 characters despite what you enter as the Length. In my example below, UBS calls for an xml tag of CstmrCdtTrfInitn but I can only fit the first 15 characters or CstmrCdtTrfInit

Could you mention which field you are using and from which table which is giving you limitation of length? If you could share screen shot then it will help a lot.
