We are using Advanced Warehouse Management in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and have created multiple warehouse locations. We would like to understand how to identify empty locations from the All Locations screen.
We have observed different location statuses such as Empty, Undetermined, Storage, and Picking. Could you please explain how these statuses are controlled and what criteria the system uses to assign them?
Based on our testing, when inventory exists in a location, the status is displayed as Storage or Picking. However, after all inventory is removed from the location, the status continues to remain as Storage or Picking instead of changing to Empty.
Additionally, we have noticed that some locations with no inventory are displayed as Empty, while other locations with no inventory are displayed as Undetermined. We understand the meaning of Empty, but could you clarify the purpose and definition of the Undetermined status, and under what conditions the system assigns this status to a location?
We would appreciate details on the logic used by the system to calculate and update location statuses, how to identity which locations are empty.
