Lead Scoring PDF Brochure Downloads

We are currently working on the lead scoring models for our company and have the following issue:

We have hundreds of product pages and on most of them there is a pdf brochure available for download. A PDF Download is a very important interaction and we'd like score it accordingly.

After many unsuccessful tries we've come to the conclusion that we'd have to create a redirection link for every PDF and change the links on our product pages. This is a lot of work and it seems like a very inefficient way. Is there a workaround? Why isn't it possible to just score the click on a link that ends with ".pdf"?

On the contact web interactions the click on the .pdf Links are registered. This means that the data is there. It's not possible to access it for Lead Scoring though.

Can you offer us a solution?
