Quote revision overrides overridden prices

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

When salesperson revises an active quote and a quote detail has a manually entered price (ispriceoverridden == 1) the copy of those details DON''T hold the manual prices but runs back to the default price list for a price and loses the override.

Is there a way to stop this?  How might the manual price be conserved through the revise process.

TIA

    Hello TallyHoDukey,

I am performing the same steps on my out of the box environment and the quote detail of the revised quote contains the same information as the original (previously activated) quote.

I used an existing product and have overridden the price (ispriceoverridden == true).

Are there any specific configurations/customizations in place for your environment?

    Thanks for asking.

All that comes to mind is that we are using the 2019p2 feature which allows us to NOT require a price list.

Additional note: Even on "new quote detail" Microsoft insists by design that the ispriceoverridden

    - be 1

    - javascript to change it be blocked

    - run to the product's default price list for a number upon productid.fireOnChange()

I'm hoping this additional behavior is not wrapped up in that.

PS- anyone from Microsoft able to tell me if we go to the trouble of opening a ticket on this we are just going to get the same "No -- it's our design decision" answer?

    Hi TallyHoDukey,

even with that setting configured on my out of the box environment, I do not observe the same behavior.

I would suggest to raise a support request for further investigation by the Microsoft support as additional information might be needed to

evaluate if that is expected behavior or an issue you are facing.

It is odd that you would find this to be the case.  I just disabled my pricing plugin on Quote Product.  Since I have the Microsoft system pricing turned off, this means the ONLY thing functioning on creating the revision quote is the Microsoft backend operation.  And I still see it substituting list price for overridden price upon creation of the new quote products during revision.  Are you sure you weren't looking at the old line item instead of the new?

I will comb the system for other processes that might be touching this but, this is pretty clearly a Microsoft operation.

No.  I must recant.  I didn't turn enough off.  The behavior is in my plugin somewhere.
