Hi All
Using Service module in BC I cannot see how we can create prepayment invoice on the service order with a native link similar to sales order standard process. Am I missing something? What is the workflow here? Thanks

    Hello Samantha,

posting prepayment invoices through a Service Order is not available by default, unlike the functionality we have for Sales/Purchase Orders and you will need to customize Service Order processing if it is a critical need for your organization.

You can use a Sales Order and post the prepayment invoice through the Sales Order using standard Business Central processes and then link it to the Service Order when finalizing the service.

    Greetings

Unfortunately, service orders don't have the prepayments feature built-in. In addition to what was already mentioned, you can partially invoice the service line, or you can have a separate service order line that's a GL account for the prepayment amount. Additionally, there is a "prepaid" function on service contracts, but that may not be exactly what you're looking for in this case.

You can also submit this as an idea to Microsoft - Categories (dynamics.com)
