E-mail parameters by using gmail SMTP?

Can I use gmail SMTP with Dynamics AX 2012 for sending alerts by E-mail and what will be the perameters?

Take a look at :social.technet.microsoft.com/.../7097.e-mail-notifications-in-dynamics-ax-2012.aspx

Also community.dynamics.com/.../103079.aspx

However, if you haven't any internal SMTP, I suggest you to install a SMTP service like technet.microsoft.com/.../aa997480(v=exchg.65).aspx

Then, use it on AX.

Finally, you can use also Gmail, but you have to check the proper port and verify if the user require authentication.

We have struggled a bit using the internal emailing functionality in AX for anything advanced such as SSL SMTP that GMail, large mail volumes, or large attachments.

We make use of LimiLabs mail.dll component. It is a bit pricey but works fantastically

take a look at axcalated.blogspot.com/.../send-email-within-axx-via-net-objects.html It will show you how to send an email over smtp/exchange using default ax classes and .net base classes that are included in all AX 2012 instances
