Workflow timesheet lines Project Manager hours

Hello

We have setup the workflow timesheet lines to send for approval each lines of the timesheet to the respective project manager.

But we would like to put one condition: Let say one resource is a PM for 1 project ABC and on his timesheet he enters time like that:

  1. 7 hours for project 123(where he is not the PM)
  2. 3 hours for project ABC (where he is the PM)
  3. 5 hours for project XYZ...

For the line 2 we would like to setup a rule if the resource is the project manager then it will be send to someone else. I have seen in the workflow parameters that there is a new field "Projects.project manager" and I tried to setup some condition with Timesheet lines.Resources but it is not working.

Maybe something I am not doing right

    Hi Meggie,

    Not sure, but it might be the case that the project manager and the resource do return different values. A developer could check this in your (test or dev) environment.

    Hi Meggie,

    This scenario has been raised to our Microsoft Support in August 2020. We have analyzed the code and unfortunately the scenario is hitting design limitation in Project module.

    FinOps:485038 - Workflow on Timesheets linked to a project is not evaluating correctly when the Project Manager and Timesheet Resource are the same

    I am very sorry, but there's no workaround. I would recommend to submit the scenario to Ideas portal , so other partners and customers can vote for it.
