Cannot create Project invoice proposal

Hi

I am trying to create a Project invoice proposal. I created a project, project contract and proceeded to post an hour journal. The Line property assigned to the journal line has "Chargeable" checkbox marked. Yet, when I go to Posted project transactions, Invoice status stays as Non chargeable. Am I missing something?

    Hi,

What project type did you use? Only time and material can invoice hour transactions. If you used fixed-price you can only invoice on-account transactions.

    Hi André

Project type is Time and material.

Which settings do you have on the project contract ?

e.g. if you have set the limit of zero (meaning customer not to pay even for this T&M project) then AX will behave as you write.

and eg. on the project contract through billing rules you can setup chargeable categories (and therefore excluding the others) and this setting will overrule line property on the line.

    Hi Daxer,

Project contract is, I believe, correctly configured. I am having trouble assigning the chargeable categories to the contract and this is the problem that is not enabling the project transactions to be invoiced:

    any thoughts on this?

    Hi

I still believe you should look into the billing limits as compared to actual transaction amounts as this (also) can make transactions non chargeable.

But as to your last specific question on chargeable categories, then on each category you set up whether "Active in journals" for later posting. I think this should be set.

Ok, by billing limits you mean funding limits, which are already configured in the project contract. Yet I still can't create an invoice proposal.  I checked Active in journals for the project categories, still no response =S what am I missing?

The problem is not related to the funding limits.  Do you have more than 1 Time and Material billing rule defined for the contract?  Chargeable categories can only be assigned to a single Time and Material billing rule defined on the contract.

    Hi David,

Yes, I have one Time and Material billing rule. How do I assign this rule to the categories?

The billing rule project/categories setup window screenshot is showing no available or selected categories.  This would seem to indicate that categories are not setup correctly.  The category used in posting the hour journal should be shown in this window.

So, what should I do in order to get this category to be shown?
