Send emails with Customer Profile Attributes

Posted on by 20

Hi all!

I'm trying to create personal emails by dynamics content blocks based on attributes from Customer Insights, Customer Profil.

In this case we have different roles on what you are allowed to see in our shop and there for we would like dynamic content to explain your role, what you can see and why.

Everything seams to work fine except for the compliance that is a External link.

  • Email settings: Compliance is Subscription center based that doesn’t match the audience type of this email.
Any idea why this is not working? And a solution
Anyone else that is using CI attributes in email? What are your experience?

Hi Johanna. Apologies for the delay; I have been out of the office.

I believe what you need to do is create a new Compliance Setting with "External link" as the type. To do this, go to Settings > Compliance and select New Setting > External link.

Specify the link for folks to update their preferences, and this will be what's sent in the footer of the emails.

If you don't see the New Setting option, you need to enable the "Configurable compliance settings in email editor" feature switch in Settings > Feature switches.

Once you have set up the External link compliance setting, you can choose that on the emails to connect them.

Hopefully that helps and let me know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    Will.

    Hi Will!

    Thanks!

If I want it to be working, how can I get around it?

We are using external link and don't want to use the default compliance. Is it possible?

Or how to set up a compliance that works when using CI - attributes and/or segments?

    Do you know?

    /Johanna

    Hi Johanna,

That error message makes it seem like you are using a Subscription center in the compliance profile associated with the email, which isn't compatible with orchestrating a journey to a CI profile. You can only use Subscription Centers with journeys sent to Contacts.

There are a few different docs that discuss how to get these connections set up properly that may help:

Hopefully that helps and please let me know if you are still having issues.

    Thanks,

    Will Genge, PM, Microsoft
