Multiple, Two or More, Salespersons Codes on Sales Orders/Invoices?

Hello all,

We are trying to get into commissions more with our new project. It appears BC is setup only for one currently. What are some ways around this?
Could dimensions be a way to do this? I know a custom field could work but would custom fields mess up our current PowerBI reports/dashboards?
This is for sales orders.

Hi,

If you have a group of customers where the salesperson doesn't change frequently, I would suggest using the Dimension on the customer table and the second field for the salesperson code. But again, how do you determine which sales order is assigned to which salesperson between the two?

It is not possible with the standard. Only one Salespersons Code can be set in the standard Sales Orders/Invoices.
Of course, it can be done with customization, but the Power BI report you mentioned probably cannot get this new value. You need to update your Odata page or API page. But it has no impact on the existing reports.

You can only assign one Salesperson Code.

One way to do this is to have a Salesperson Code that combines two salespersons.

Ex:

JIM - Jim

ROBIN - Robin

JIMROBIN - Jim and Robin

Hello,

In Business Central, You can Only assign 1 Sales Person, But You can assign the Multiple SalesPerson Dimension.

Business Central supports only one Salesperson Code per order, but you can work around this by using dimensions for tracking, adding custom fields for multiple salespersons with split commissions.

You can customize it, but there are also apps in the app source for assigning multiple salespeople and calculating commissions.

We have used this for one of our customer
