Item Transaction History check box affects which table(s)?

Posted on by 75,730

When you check the Maintain History for Item Transactions for an item which tables are affected? I have tried comparing an item where that is checked and one where it is not and the same tables appear to be getting hit.

    Hi Richard,

Without doing some detailed review and testing, I can't say for certain why the issue continues to return. There could be an issue with the Item Stock Inquiry window.

We can see if any other GP folks can chime in on possibilities here; otherwise, we'd be happy to take a more detailed look into the client's issue in a support ticket.

    Best Regards,

Lucas, can you explain this dilemma?  Client had quantities that did not match when they would display U/M on the Item Stoick Inquiry screen. As long as the base U/M was quantity 1 all was fine. So here is what I did.

    1) Backup IV30300

    2) Remove all records in the IV10200 and IV30300 tables

    3) Reconcile quantities so IV00102 has zero qty on hand

    4) Flip the Maintain History flag on

    5) Import the transactions using the backup

At this point in time now they can change the display U/M and the quantities agree. A week or two later after they have processed IV normally the problem returns. What could they be doing or what is set incorrectly to cause this issue to return?

Thanks Lucas, that explains why their Item Stock Inquiry screen does not work.

    Hi Richard,

The IV30300 (Inventory Transaction Amounts History) table is used for maintaining item transaction history.

Mahmoud M. AlSaadi has a great little article on this option:

I don't think there have been any changes to that feature between versions.

    I hope that helps!
