Since the most recent update last week, my laptop is not working properly when it comes to audio/recording.
First the microphone (headset with mic via audio jack) was not being detected. Now it is, but the sound is so muffled and when I do a test the volume is playing back at 1-2%. I have it turned up to the max. It is the default device for microphone. All apps are allowed to use the microphone.
I've tried every possible solution available online - from troubleshooting to uninstalling drivers and re-installing them, restarting, rebooting, restoring the laptop, updating settings. There is likely NOTHING I have not tried. When I check for updates, I've gotten a cumilative update (KB5049622) and installed it. It has not resolved the issue.
The headset works perfectly on other devices - I can hear audio perfectly from it. The microphone is not working properly.
I don't know what else I can do or what is causing the issue.
