AP Payment Journal Posts even though Payment Status is None

I am able to post a payment journal even though the payment status of the payment line is None.  When I post, the message I receive is "status is None.  Status must be Approved".  The next message says "Number of vouchers posted to the journal: 1".   Why would this voucher post if that payment status is None?  I expected this attempt at posting to fail.

    The status of when a payment journal is posted is determined by the setup in the Method of payment form. AP>Setup>Payment>Method of Payments. For each method of payment setup on the table, you determine what status to use, which then controls when you can post the journal when you specify the method of payment on the journal. Hope this helps. If not, please clarify your question further and I'll take another shot at the answer that works for you.

    Thank you for the response.  I checked each of my payment statuses in AP / Setup / Payment / Method of Payments.  All Methods are either Sent or Approved in the Payment Status field.  It seems like the first part of the posting message is accurate.  "Status is None.  Status must be approved"  But the fact that the journal actually posts after that is incorrect to me.

    I had a similar issue then when I checked my Method of Payment (as earlier suggested), then I realized that the Method of Payment was set to COD ... So of course status cannot change to "Sent" because payment will be made upon delivery.
