What licenses are necessary on SQL server (windows server 2008 32-bit native with SQL2008)?

I have the same question (0)I would recommend that you check the AX 4.0 System Requirements page. You can find this at: http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/ax/using/40systemrequirements.mspx#EUEAC
I did take a look and Server 2008 is supported when running AX 4.0 SP2.
SQL 2008 is only supported on AX 4.0 SP2 with kernel version 4.0.2503.358. If you aren't already at this kernel build I would apply the latest kernel build available for SP2.
