We used to have project server integrations readily available with AX 2012 R3 version by Microsoft.

Now in Dynamics 365 product(AX7) literature, I have found that this functionality is deprecated/not available.

So my questions are -

1. My customer is already using MS Project Server and wants to import project data to Dynamics 365(AX7).

What is the best approach to make it happen in Dynamics 365(AX7)?

2. If by default this option is not available in Dynamics 365(AX7), What are the other options for this?

3. Is there any plan/road map to provide this functionality in next release/version?

The project server integration is deprecated and has been replaced by the AX2012 project Integration.

This Integration is not deprecated but currently not available. Please see here: ax.help.dynamics.com/.../ax-2012-features-not-implemented-in-dynamics-ax-7-but-are-not-deprecated

I have checked the links mentioned, and it shows the functionality is in development right now, however it does not give any target release date. My customer is looking for this functionality.

Hi Rajesh Jain G,

I believe a lot of people are looking for this functionality.

If you urgently need the feature you can try getting some additional information through contacting the MS support. Yet, I believe that they also cannot provide you with a specific release date. We just have to be more patient and wait a bit more...

Hello. I want to give my comment by this topic, because my colleague while reading this topic did not get clear understanding and others can make wrong conclusions about PS and DAX integration abilities between versions.

As we can understand, in AX7 integration will be only with Project Professional (Office Application, with AX office Add-ins). Not sure that it is available right now.

Till AX 2012 CU6, integration exists only with Project Server Professional 2010. No office Add-ins available.

In AX 2012 CU7, was added office Add-ins integration.

Till AX 2012 R3 (all CU-es) there are available two integration abilities with Project Server Professional 2010 and using Office Add-ins.

Therefore, by your question 1) in your environment you can try migrate from Project Server Professional to Office Add-ins. When you will done that, you should easily update you project management module. As we can understand it, will support Project Professional 2013 & 2016 as well.
