Forms Pro survey questions responses overall score

Hi everyone,

we are about to adopt Forms Pro to send surveys when a case in Dynamics CRM is resolved.

We notice that Survey Response, Survey Questions, and Survey Question Responses are three different entities.

So:

  • when someone responds to a survey this goes to Survey Response
  • The Questions are stored in Survey Questions entity
  • The Question responses are stored in Survey Question responses

The question is, is it possible to make a chart to show the overall of each question and for example, how many questions have 1,2,3,4,or 5 as an answer?

Considering that actually Survey questions response Name is a single line of text field and not numeric, I couldn't find any way to summarize this information in CRM.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards

Kiril

We've actually handled this the following way:

I've created a Workflow that triggers on Survey Question Response creation

Then it triggers a simple plugin that converts the value in the default field msfp_name (string) to a new field of type Floating Point number 0.00 (integer).

The end result is, in the charts we are using now the correct filed, and we can have an average performance based on survey responses.

    Hi Kiril,

Actually I'm not sure about your requirement.

Could you kindly provide more information about how do you want to summarize the question response?

    Regards,

    Leo

    Hi @Leo

This was my initial setup as well, unfortunately, what this does is only counts the total number of questions containing data in Name field, in this case, it shows you have many answered questions you have, but will not show you the average number.

In the above example, you have 2 responses where Name is 1 and 2 responses where Name is 5, meaning that the average to 1 should be 1 on 5 should be 5, but on your chart show only 2 on both, meaning that it gives you only the total amount of answers, If you have 100 answered questions where name is 5 it still will be 100 and not the average which should be 5 in this case

    Regards

    Hi partner,

Although the name field is a text line control, it could also be summarized in chart.

For example I have some records named by "1,2,3,4,5" in my test entity, and I created a chart to summarize their names.

We can see that summarizing by text line is also supported in charts.

Just select the "Name" field as Horizontal label.
