Dear All,
Happy New Year 2023. I am getting error while setting up new Financial Periods Setup.
Following things I have tried and nothing helped and error remain same.
1) Run check link for period setup
2) Maintenance->Clear Data period setup
3) Maintenance-SQL-Company (Drop and re create table)
I thought its related to this company and tried the same another company on same site got same error. This site recently upgraded from GP 2016 to GP2018 (18.4.1436 (2021)) not sure this is anyway related to the above issue.
Hi Brandon,
As you rightly said, issue is related to language. What we did is using maintenance-clear Data-Company-Audit Trial Codes removed then reset the audit trail code numbers. After doing this created financial period and no error popup. Thanks again Brandon and Bill and very happy to back in the community after a long time, have a nice day.
Thanks Brandon,
When we upgraded GP from 2016 to 2018 the language selected was USA instead of UK/Ireland and later we uninstalled and reinstalled the new instance of GP with correct language. So this issue might be related to the same can you please help me with how to open support case with Microsoft since we wanted to fix this.
Thanks Bill yes we checked that and it doesn't have duplicates.
Hey Babu,
This error almost always means you have a messed up Multilingual install. The language version between the Dynamics..messages and the SY01000 table are not in synch.
This is hard to explain over a forum and is best done a support case. Information pertaining Multilingual installs is below.
learn.microsoft.com/.../faq-international-installations
I hope this helps!
Thank you!

Have you been able to review the content of the Financial Periods table in SQL?
Looking in the Financial Periods tab on Administration >> Company >> Fiscal Periods does not show a duplicat or an overlap of period Years?
