Sales Order types to Master Planning

Good day

We have a client requirement for Sales Orders to generate Planning demand (D365). The problem is that the Sales can only suggest production if there is enough credit for the customer. From what I understand, any Sales order (any status) created is picked-up by Master planning, thus ignoring if there is credit for the customer or not.

Is there a way to stop Master Planning in creating the demand if a certain condition on the Sales order is still false? Can one specify something on the Sales order to prevent the planning from going ahead? Maybe to set the Sales order to be in a Sales Journal condition or something (I understand Sales journals are not considered by Master Planning, but one cannot create a Sales Journal from a Sales Quotation?).

Thanks for the reply - will investigate the options, but yes, it is not ideal to do modifications to MP.

It’s worth having a look at the Scrap field on Sales line. I am not sure what impact it will have but before doing any customisation give it a shot. Set that to true and see what master planning does and what impact it can have on other areas.
