Econnect (WCF) , ODATA , Web service Question

I am new to GP and one term that I heard is Econnect (WCF). Does econnect creates query then publish as API (ODATA / SOAP)? Or it is something different? In NAV it is all about ODATA/SOAP/API but I cannot understand Econnect.

You need to wrap eConnect objects in WebService. Below is example for eConnect Next Document No schema wrapped it in web service.

Please check the sample code from previous link that will help you to understand how to use eConnect.

Thank you so much for your answer. Just to make sure Econnect creates API (ODATA/SOAP) then these API publish to use with external services. In the other words, econnect is a method to create ODATA/API?

Hello MahdyGah,

You need to create SOAP/OData API using eConnect. There is web services also available in Dynamics GP. Please check Microsoft Document - docs.microsoft.com/.../aa973821(v=msdn.10) for eConnect.
