2022 release wave 1 - Date of update europe

Hi everyone!

Reviewing Microsofts documentation, several questions have arisen regarding the 2022 release wave 1 update in Europe.

On the one hand, we see that the release dates are set between April 15th and April 17th in Europe, but when we have reviewed the new features we see that they will be available between April and September 2022 (https://docs.microsoft.com/es-es/dynamics365-release-plan/2022wave1/marketing/dynamics365-marketing/planned-features).

Is it mandatory to upgrade in April, or can we wait until September when all features will be available?

    Hey!

    As you indicate, wave deployments have several dates.  Most of the functionalities are scheduled on a delivery for April.  Due to release cycle, there might be features that can't be released on this date and are scheduled for later on this year (may, june).  However, it's important to note that the April date is Mandatory. It means that if you don't deploy the wave before, on that date (april 15 to april 17), organizations in Europe (CRM4) will be automatically upgraded. 

    Please note that wave updates are mandatory and therefore, they are rolled out automatically by Microsoft on the dates indicated in the plan.  In August you'll see that Wave2 plans are published, you'll be able to start deploying (in sandbox environments) in Early September and automatic rollout will start in October.  You can also search for Waves deployment in 2021 and 2020 to confirm the behavior.
